1st Grade Gardeners

Today was an exciting day for us!  We started our first science experiment in first grade!  We are watching plants grow while we learn about what it is that plants need in order to grow.  We learned that plants need 5 things to grow:

• air
• space
• water
• light
• nutrients

As we watch our plants grow in the coming weeks, we are going to be observing what part of the plants soaks up the water and what part absorbs the sunlight.  We enjoy planting grass and alfalfa today.  Here are pictures from our afternoon of gardening!

Plumpy and Pictures

What a great first day!  We enjoyed our time together and worked really hard to learn all of our classroom procedures and rules!  We will be continuing to practice these skills all week!  We also got to have some fun taking individual pictures as well as a class picture!  Happy first day!

Candyland time also proved to be a great way to kick off the new school year when we got to meet Plumpy!  We also found out King Kandy is missing and it is our job to find him!  We can't wait to see where this year takes us!  Thanks for the love and support Moms and Dads!
